AUSTRALIAN CHAMBER CHOIR

The Australian Chamber Choir was created and is conducted by Douglas Lawrence, internationally regarded, Melbourne based conductor and organist, and Director of Music at Scots Church, Collins Street.

Comprised of only eighteen fine, hand picked voices, the Australian Chamber Choir's programming places an emphasis on the major choral works of the Renaissance period, of the master-works of JS Bach and on premiering original and specially commissioned works by Australian Composers.

During 2011 the Australian Chamber Choir presents a further series of three subscription concerts in Melbourne, two of which will be recorded by the ABC CLASSIC FM for broadcast. It embarked on it's third European bi-annual concert tour which included concerts in Freiburg and Cologne cathedrals, three concerts in Berlin and one in Holy Trinity Cathedral in Paris.

Of it's performances in the Bonn Minster Summer Concert Series, the General Anzeiger Bonn wrote "...the sound produced by this ensemble was quite simply phenomenal: flawless intonation, superb uniformity, perfect tonal balance, astounding dynamic range and sleek voice-leading...heavenly, ethereal sound..."

While the Augsburger Allgemaine said...."a performance of the highest artistic level.," and the Schwabische Zeitung reviewer said...."vocally perfect. Excellence and vivacity were intimately linked."
